Reynolds Lake Oconee in Greensboro and Eatonton is the undisputed centerpiece of golf in the region, featuring 117 holes across several award-winning courses. It operates as a private club and resort; access to these courses is restricted to Club Members and guests staying at The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee or in Reynolds vacation rentals.

  • Great Waters: This signature Jack Nicklaus design (renovated in 2019) is a 7,436-yard, par-72 masterpiece. The final eight holes are situated spectacularly along the Lake Oconee shoreline.

  • The Landing: The first golf course built on Lake Oconee (1986), originally known as Port Armor Golf Club. Designed by Bob Cupp, this 6,991-yard course features natural elevation changes, with holes four, five, and eighteen playing right along the water.

  • The Oconee: A challenging 7,158-yard Rees Jones layout characterized by dramatic elevation changes, forced carries, and heavily protected greens.

  • The Preserve: A highly playable 6,698-yard Bob Cupp design that utilizes the area's natural rolling topography.

  • The National: Designed by Tom Fazio, this course features distinct nine-hole layouts set amongst hardwood forests and dramatic 60-foot elevation changes.

  • The Creek Club: A private, member-exclusive course designed by Jim Engh.

  • Richland: Another member-accessible course.

  • Fenmoor Golf Club: Currently under development by architect Steve Smyers, this exclusive course is expected to open in Fall 2026 for Reserve-level members only.

  • Note: Reynolds also features the "Kingdom of Golf Presented by TaylorMade," a 16-acre premier instruction and club-fitting facility.

Private Golf Clubs

For those seeking a purely private, residential golf community experience without resort access:

  • Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee (Eatonton): This highly acclaimed, 6,847-yard par-70 course is the only Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw design in Georgia. It is a strictly private facility; tee times must be booked and accompanied by a member, and no public play is allowed.

Semi-Private & Public Courses

If you are looking to book a tee time without a membership or a resort stay, the area offers excellent semi-private and fully public options:

  • Harbor Club on Lake Oconee (Greensboro): Designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish, this 7,027-yard, par-72 course is semi-private, meaning it is open for public play. It has been recognized as one of the Southeast's most distinctive courses.

  • The Club at Lake Sinclair (Milledgeville): Operating as a semi-private/private facility, this 18-hole, 6,277-yard course allows limited non-member public play.

  • Little Fishing Creek Golf Course (Milledgeville): A county-owned, completely public 18-hole course playing 6,700 yards. It is known for being a great value with a challenging layout that includes tight fairways and blind uphill shots.

  • Uncle Remus Golf Course (Eatonton): A public, 9-hole municipal course that is open year-round. It measures 3,390 yards and is a great, affordable option for a quick, casual round.
